In these complex and confusing times, children need a caring adult to be a mentor and a friend—someone they can talk to, have fun with and learn from. Research shows kids with a Mentor are more confident in their schoolwork performance, are able to get along better with their families and are less likely to skip school. Tribute and Memorial Gifts
Giving a gift in memory of a loved one or in honor of a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion is a special way to pay tribute to that special someone while supporting the mission of Mentor Me. All memorial and honor gifts will be acknowledged through a personal note sent by Mentor Me to the honored person.
Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers match their employees gifts to charitable institutions. Some companies will match the gifts of employee spouses and retired employees as well. Ask the human resources or benefits office at your workplace to find out if your company has a matching gifts program.
Here's how your contribution will be used:
- Because we are providing each child we serve with a caring adult mentor, your contribution helps us recruit mentors for children waiting for a mentor.
- Because the safety of the children in our program is our primary concern, your contribution helps us cover the costs of background checks and insurance, while ensuring trained professionals match children to caring and responsible Mentor.
- Because training is essential to success and safety of our mentoring relationships, your contribution will help provide instructors and instructional materials during our professional training sessions provided for our volunteers. Because the well being of all of the children, mentors and families involved in our program is critical to our success, your contribution allows us to professionally screen, interview, match and monitor our children and their mentors.
- Because volunteers and children benefit from sharing with others in the program, your contribution helps us provide cultural and social activities to enrich the experience for our children and their mentors.
